2025 Summer internships

We offer paid, hands-on internships with housing provided in Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico and Arizona. Interns rotate through a variety of teams within their systems throughout the summer. There is an opportunity to learn farm-specific Spanish through an immersion experience (dairy production, calf ranch, beef system, operations/maintenance internships).

Rotations: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Projections, Banking, Insurance

Potential Experiences: Daily Deposits, Farm Projections, Feed Inventory, Fixed Assets, Indexing/Authorizing Invoices, Livestock Herd Stats, Pivot Table Projects, Repair Reporting

Location: Morris, Minnesota

Rotations: AutoCAD, Carpentry, Concrete, Heavy Equipment Operation, Plumbing, Surveying

Potential Experiences: Design Dairy Manure Separator Building, GPS/Total Station, Pipe Fusion, Reading Blueprints, Setting/Pouring Octaform, Welding

Feedlot/Calf Ranch/Stocker/Cow Calf 
Rotations: Animal Management, Animal Health, Feeding/Nutrition, Ranch/Feedlot/Calf Ranch

Operations Data/Genetics/Marketing/Business Analytics
Projects: Data Collection/Evaluation, Cattle Inventories/Records, Cattle Logistics/Coordination, Financial Planning/Review

Locations: Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico

​Rotations: Accounting and Finance, Data and Performance Management, Human Resources, Permitting and Government Compliance, Dairy Production (Hoof Trimming, Maternity, Reproduction, etc.)

Rotations: Inventory, Feed Buying, Feed Trials, Data Collection and Analysis, Feed Quality, Forage, Feed Management Software

Rotations: Feeding/Nutrition, Herd Health, Hoof Trimming, Mastitis/Treatments, Maternity, Reproduction, Calf Feeding/Health – Arizona and New Mexico Locations

Potential Experiences: Administer Vaccines, Breeding, Cow Flow, Dry Cow Therapy, Feed Sample Shaker Boxes, Palpating for Preg Check, Roll and Toggle Suture Method, Sprinkler Installation

South Dakota Dairy Locations: Bryant, Veblen
​Arizona Location: Willcox – Dairy + Calf Ranch Options

Rotations:  Financial Planning and Analysis, Supply Chain and Inventory Management, Corporate Finance Functions

Potential Experiences: Identifying opportunity costs and returns to drive business results, quarterly and annual forecasts, variance analysis, banking and capital markets

Rotations: PLC/Controls/Electrical Systems, Construction/Design, Data Management, Facilities, Pumping + Piping Systems, Milking Systems, Ventilation Systems, Water Systems

Locations: Minnesota and South Dakota

Rotations: Permit Application Preparation, Manure Management Planning, Permit Reporting, Water Monitoring, Aquifer Pump Test Assistance

  • Conduct unbiased and practical research on a 7,000+ cow dairy or large calf ranch
  • Develop a deep understanding of large dairy farms by rotating through various animal care teams
  • Receive mentorship from on-staff veterinarians
  • Learn farm-specific Spanish through on-farm immersion
  • Field trips to other Riverview farms
  • Potential to present research at AABP or potentially be published
